The Institute for Empirical Social Studies (IFES) is one of the most respectable and sophisticated market and polls research institutes both nationally and internationally. The institute can look back on more than 40 years of successful work and combines opinion, social and market research in a unique way. For quite some time, the IFES has been offering customers also market research in selected areas such as IT and telecommunication.

The IFES headquarter is located in Vienna; The board of directors, Dr. Imma Palme and Hermann Wasserbacher is supported by 30 members of staff. The telephone laboratory of the institute has 50 CATI (= Computer Assisted Telephone Interviewing) supported telephone boxes. An active pool of more than 400 interviewers led by 10 area managers is regularly reassessed and upgraded thoroughly.
